I DID! And I have you to thank for on that front; as soon as I mentioned your mongoose skull, we went hunting and a seller on ebay had some stellar skulls to choose from. Mat was able to somehow fen-angle an A+ grade skull from him. I was so super excited when I saw it; it’s gorgeous. *w*

I love the shape, damn those chompers are neat!

I am kind of in love with it’s super pointy molars, not gonna lie. I couldn’t believe that it had all it’s teeth in; and it’s superbly clean. I’m still swooning. I should put it up against the mink skull; their differences and similarities are really cool; hooray for convergent evolution!

Herpestes javanicus skull. Real, non-replica. SCREEECH.

So this Javan Mongoose Skull is the birthday present to me from Mat that came in the mail today, and let me tell you what; this is the most perfect little skull I have ever seen. Mat says the buyer has never had such a clean mongoose skull with all the teeth intact, so I am super bouncy and excited to have it. The bottom jaw is loose and can separate from the head, so I have to be careful with it. It’s only about 8 cm long, but the difference in size from my mink skull (my only other skull) is quite apparent. I can’t wait to draw it, eeee~. There’s also a few Strudel nose shots to compare the size.
